Rough shifting after rebuild...

So I just had my Automatic transmission rebuilt at Aamco...my 94 Maxima SE was took forever to shift into reverse and also had a rough shift from 1 to 2. $2500 later, my reverse is fixed, but my car still has a rough shift. I bring it back and the guy tells me that he fixed it by resetting my computer. The second I pull out of the parking lot, BOOM...second gear . Should I be worried about this and keep bringing it back, or do you guys think that this is not harmful to the car? I don't mind it being there as long as I know that it's not harmful. Thanks!

why in gods name did you bring your car to aamco ? Dont you know a local mechanic or tranny shop thats good at what they do ? I took mine to aamco and 2000 dollars later my 5spd was a no speed. I threatened to sue so they returned my money and the broken car. I took it to a guy i knew at lee myles 1900 bucks later my car had new half shafts, new clutch (stock replacement) and a rebuild tranny. However i its been 2 years now and i cant slam gears andmore it just grinds when i start rowin !

***** with Aamco. It took me three separate visits to have my auto in the GXE fixed. Even after all of that, they still over filled the tranny by several quarts.

I would keep taking it back until you are satisfied. You probably at least got a 12/12 warranty, so I would make sure they saw me as much as possible until they fixed it. I think sometimes you have to just "out last" these people. It will probably take a while, but they will probably rather fix it than face court, if it goes that far.

By the way, I just had my auto rebuilt, and it's not easy to find a reputable place if you don't know somebody. No way to tell for sure, so you go with what you know at the time. Sucks, but there it is..

1. you can't fix tranny problems by resetting the computer. if it's messed up, it's messed up.

2. take it back, kick them in the *****, and make them fix it right.

3. when they don't, take it back again and kick the manager in the *****.

screw aamaco ?damn straight.forget them. I took mine to a well established transmission repair shop near my house that's been around since 1959 called Bob's Transmission. they did an absolutely magnificent job for $1650. mine was howling in gear and slipping as well.it shifts like brand new after they got done with it.
