How should our idle feel?

The max overheated a few weeks back and after the radiator and water pump were replaced, he checked for any tell-tale signs as to whether anything else was affected and found nothing out of the ordinary (foreign substances in the oil, etc). He said it was OK to drive it, but it seems the car vibrates more after the incident.

I don't know any other 3rd Gens who live around me, so I'm curious how our idle should feel like after all these years. As far back as I can remember, I believe the car had a bit of a rough idle to it, not vibrating hard but enough that me and my passenger would slightly feel it. This time, however, it seems a bit more prominent. For example, when I popped open the hood after running it for ~15 mins and shut it back, there was a vibrating sound coming from the front, apparently from the engine vibrations in the front dragging the hood with it.

For the front, I'm guessing something might not be seated correctly that would cause the hood to vibrate. And if I get around to it, I'll clean out the intake manifold to see if that eliminates part of the vibrations coming from the engines. Any suggestions / thoughts as to why it's vibrating the way it is?

my idle was very smooth, while your sitting in drive turn the AC on and it should settle around 700 rpm if i remember right. Sitting in drive my idle was alittle bumpy but normal for a car that old

Nope, I said I didn't know any 3rd Gens who lived closeby. I met e-chillen at the Johnson Park meet (Sheepshead Bay, I believe) and I know you live in NYC too Izzy (sorry bro, forgot where exactly).

So the ones who experience a little roughness, when you open the hood after it's been pretty warmed up, you guys feel a slight vibration on the steering wheel, the seat, etc? Just wanna make sure we talking about the same thing.

If so, is there anything we can do to make it a bit better? Guess checking the IACV is a good start. Anything specifically to look for?

YES there's always a little roughness. It's a pretty old car dude so of course it's gonna have some roughness. Not like these new cars where you honestly cannot tell when they are running and when they are not.
