I may have located some poly suspension bushings and bumpstops
I am working to trying to find out if they will fit the 3rd gen Maximas, and what the cost is.
I am told the company does good work, (by a friend in OZ), and I am trading phone calls with them to verify part numbers and applications. They are in Australia, so they don't have the exact same car models we do.
I just wanted to check and see if anybody else would be interested in these if I can figure out a way to get them? I may have to get myself declared a distributor for them in order to have them imported and I don't want to go through that trouble just to get myself a set.
Well, actually, I guess I might.
(what won't a car fiend do for a mod)
But still, I thought I would check and see if anybody else is interested in high quality poly urethane bumpstops (specifically designed for lowered cars), sway bar bushings, and control arm bushings.
If so, post here and I will make sure to let the forum know if it turns out they have parts for our cars, (or can be persuaded to make them).

I'd be interested if they got the LCA bushings for the SE w/ AT. I just ordered them from the dealer this morn as mine are so shot that the car jumps side to side under hard acceleration.
good luck. Energy suspension already makes sway bar bushings and bump stops.
Control arm bushings are going to be VERY hard to have made, simply due to the design of them. the factory front ones are the only ones that might be able to be fabricated by a place. they'll just look at the rear bushing and laugh if you ask them to make one.
been there, done that.
we're working on rear usrethane bushings right now.. and actually better than that for the crazy people out there. stay tuned. you'll ne impressed.

Thats good to hear Matt. I look forward to hearing about it. The company I am talking too already makes both the front and rear bushings for some Maximas, they are just for the Aussie models and I am trying to figure out if they can be mapped over to our models.
However, if you are putting something together I can just let it drop. I have no desire to compete, I am just tring to mod my car, and help out the community if I can. You guys help me after all.

Better than that for the crazy people... Hm? Delrin perhaps? Let me know, color me crazy but I'd be first in line for that.

I have a 93 SE with Auto so that is what I am looking for too. Lets see what Matt has in store for us. From what I have seen of him, it'll be good.
I'm working on the rear parallel links and radius rods. the front bushings there's not much we can do, but the rears are pretty easy to swap out as they're a standard bushing.
I'm a little crazier than most also, but I'm going to be going with all-metal heim joints back there since I track the car. poly bushings are also in the works for those of you that aren't as crazy as me. Should know something by the end of the day.

Monoball!
Matt93se, I'll be moving to Houston within the next month. I'll definitely buy some poly bushings off you, when you have them. I'd go monoball but, I have a 240z for all the fun stuff like that! My Maxima is just the daily driver. Don't worry, you're not alone as far as doing crazy stuff with Maximas. Once my Z is up and running, my Maxima is going down for some never done before stuff.
You're more than welcome to stop by our shop once we are up and running (in about 1-2 months).

OK, keep us up to date on the progress Matt! Let me know if I should keep chasing this Aussie company around or not. Perhaps we can fill in any gaps you end up with from their line.
You rock man.
Good news guys, I'd found ONE company down in Australia that actually makes poly-uranthe brushes EXCLUSIVELY for the 3rd gen max or J30 series. They're MAD expensive. I am NOT joking!!!!!
This manufacturer's name is:
http://www.noltec.com.au/niss_car.htm
and you could order them from:
http://www.oztek.us/ by phone
The parts number for 3rd gen is
N51778 Control Arm - Inner Front F 1 $36
N51451 Control Arm - Inner Rear F 1 $67
N22064 Sway Bar - Link F 1 $15
N61452 Control Arm R 1 Incl. crush tubes $89
Note that each kit comes with BOTH Left and Right brushes, so you don't have to order two of each.
I just ordered the set of control arm not too long ago. I'd figured, there is no point in buying a new control arm nor buy rubber pieces from the 2nd gen. I could just get them here. As for the sway bar, I'll just buy a new Sus Technique set when I have the moneys since they also comes with a poly-uranthe brushes set.

Sup Matt, I read your article on how to change the control arm on 4dsc.com. You mentioned using a hydraulic press. I am just curious since I have never done the brushes for the control arm before, couldn't I just use a C-Clamp? Would that works over the oven trick?

No. You will need a hydraulic press, or a BIG bench vise. these parts take several thousand pounds of pressure to smash into place. not something you can get with a C clamp.
Ok, I try to borrow someone's press then but can I used this kind of hydraulic press for the wheel bearings also?

yup.. same tool. neither job is fun, let me tell you. but if you're going to do it, do all of it at once and make a day of it, since you'll already have the suspension torn apart, it'll b easy to do it all. might as well change your ball joints too.
