Is it possible to convert from analog climate control in a 3rd gen to a electronic climate control such as in some 4th gen models. Are they interchangable?

My 3rd gen has digital climate control. Which 3rd gens came with it?

I have noticed that in some 3rd gen 11993 maximas they DID have electronic climate controls. If i were to get my hadns on one of these, would i be able to swap them out and would it be as easy as just unpulging the harness from the old unit into the new ECC?
