VTC Rewire

Has anyone done the VTC Rewire on VE30DE (found on Craig Brace's page)? I have a 93 SE that is ticking badly. My questions are:

-Does it actually work without taking away performance?
-Will it make any difference if my valves are constantly tapping, is it too late?
-Any long term effects?
-And, out of curiosity...will the springs (or whatever the failing parts are) eventually fail forcing replacement or repair of the whole VTC assembly?

Appreciate your help!

Erin

I suggest punching in VTC in the search on this forum.. you'll find tons of info about it.

and yes, my VTCs have been grounded for about a year no with no ill effects. you do lose a bit of power, but nothing more than 5-10hp or so.

if you want them fixed and your smart enough you can get the spring and plate from courtesy nissan for 30 bucks. or the whole unit for 442.18 a pop. (you need 2)
