Bad gas mileage after servicing the car

This really ****es me off. Goodyear did a multiple service for me, which was new platinum spark plugs, a transy fluid flush, brake fluid flush, and a fuel tune up that included cleaning the fuel injectors. Instead of getting better mileage, I'm actually getting about 50 miles less on a tank (from 310 to 260). What could've they done wrong?

What they could have done wrong? Touched your car.

From what you said they done, you may want to check to see if they reinstalled the ignition coil connectors properly. Another thing you could check is the connectors on the fuel injectors, however, that depends on how they "cleaned" them. Ensure that they installed the right plugs. They could have inadvertantly picked up and installed the wrong gapped spark plugs.

Other than the gas milage, how does the car feel? Does it accelerate the same? Does it still idle and run smooth?

The car runs awesome. Everything improved; quieter engine, smoother shifting, more perceived power, much better high end pull (I wonder what service component caused this, anyone? Once it happened to shift into the 4th at about 100mph, which almost scared me. I'm at 120 in no time basically), just the damn mileage decreased. I will let them check out the things you mentioned. Thanks.

Hmmm. Usually, if something is amiss, you will have other symptoms other than bad gas mileage. Well, another thing could be you are leaning more heavy on the gas pedal since you now have increased peformance.

Hehe, I thought of that. So on the second tank, I drove it normally, and still got about the same (in)efficiency.

On a side note, after I totalled my 91se earlier this summer, I'm having no second thoughts about a "heavy foot". You never know when either you or your car will cease to exist. Just drive it the way you feel like. My old one is somewhere on a junkyard and I have no regrets whatsoever. Losing a maxima is like losing a part of yourself though.

It is odd that you say that about the Maxima. I feel the same exact way. As much as I like the new Accord coupe, I don't think I could break myself away from Maximas.

As much as I love my GXE, the SE is by far the superior of the two. Hey, whatever you find out, let us know so that we may be aware of it in the future.

check the pcv valve, air filter, 02 sensor, vacumm leakage, and trottle body. for the norm, you should be getting around 350m/12-14g. a full tank should go beyond 400 m/tank. <-my bad, silly me for the typo, had to fix that

Update: Before I brought it to goodyear for an aftercheck, I noticed tires looked underinflated. Checked the psi and it was at freaking 28. They adjusted tire pressure when doing the alignment. Bumped that bad boy to 34 and mileage improved immediately. However, I'm still unsatisfied that the fuel injector cleaning didn't increase my mileage. It's about same as before.

Had the pcv valve, af, and vacuum leakage fixed/replaced myself before the goodyear services. O2 sensor, I was told that the check engine light will come on if it goes bad.
