I have a 1989 maxima.Recently the brakes failed and the brake fluid level was below the minimum.My mechanic diagonsed the problem to be rusted leaking metal pipes that transmit the brake fluids to the wheels.

I had to change the pipe for new ones.After the pipe change and while he was bleeding the brake fluid at the wheels we discovered that the ABS unit was leaking fluid.It started gradually but soon it became serious as fluids oozed out from the ABS struts at every pump of the brake.The level in the brake fluid container kept going down.Now ,he is saying that i should replace the ABS unit.
Where i live(Nigeria) it's difficult get a good replacement.

Is there no other remedy for this kind of problem?Has anyone experienced this before?I urgently need your advise.

 

i think some people on here who had the problem did end up with replacing the unit...but thats within the US...maybe u might wanna consider ordering the part from here and shipped to u over there if u find a nice used one.
