Engine problem - need help

Just had my '92 Maxima SE fixed. I had the exhaust manifold bolts repaired, had the belts fixed and had the exhaust worked on. Problem is, every so often it feels like the transmission slips out of gear, I pop the clutch and it takes off again. Yesterday the engine pretty much shut down. I popped the clutch while it was slowing down to about 2nd gear and it took off again. What the heck is the problem? Is it the clutch? Usually it will do it in any gear except first or second. Any help is appreciated.

Did you have this problem before having the above said work done? Either way...If I understand correctly, it sounds like maybe one of the clutch cylinders. First check for proper level in the master cylinder, then check the slave cylinder for any leakage...etc. Those are very easy to rebuild at the tune of under 5.00.

[I did have the problem before. Funny thing, when the bolts broke, the car seemed to have a lot more power and didn't do it. I have not seen any leaking nor did my mechanic say anything about it.

Have your Cat checked it may be plugged up. a plugged cat will cause a loss of power.
