Injectors Bad??

Last weekend I noticed that my number two cylinder wasnt firing. I checked the ignition coils, plugs, fuel filter. They all turned out to be working just fine. After this I figured that the fuel injector had probably gone out since the problem happened so suddenly.

On my way to the parts store to pick up the injector I stopped and filled up with BP Premium gas. To my surprise after I left the store with the new injector the car started running perfect.

I'm thrilled that this somehow worked itself out, but does anyone have any clue as to why this could have happened. Could the BP gas break up deposits?

1992 SE 156,000 and running strong.

I found a website directauto.com that has remanufactured fuel injectors for 36 dollars. I bought three of them and they were shipped to me in 4 days. Fuel injectors at my dealer are 120.
I am going to do the swap this weekend, it looks to be challenging but not too hard.

make sure to use oil or vasaline on the O-rings when you reseat them in the rail, its a ***** when they pinch....and don't get discouraged if it doesn't run right the first time(or the second time ) I also used injectors(6) from directauto and it worked out fine!

what do you mean doesnt work right? Will it be an installation problem, or do the injectors need time to "age" and work right with the system. ANy and all help you can provide is greatly appreciated

no, its no big deal...just when you reseat the injectors the rubber o-rings can pinch very easily if not lubricated well leading to a leak...the problem is you don't really figure this out till later when everyhting is back together. tedious, but no big deal you just gotta go back in, check the rings an put on a new one where necessary
