Guys,
I was trying to fix one of the faulty window regulator.I had two separate issues. My car is Maxima-1990-SE.
1. When I went to autozone to buy a window regulator, I was surprised they just gave me the window-regulator without the motor for $60. They had other one Siemens, with motor for $140. I just came back to find some good price in the net.
So my questions is: When we say window regulator does it mean with motor or without motor.
2. My second problem was a big serious one: I had completely removed the old window regulator. I could start the engine to make sure I was not doing anything wrok to the electrical system. In the middle of something, I had to open the truck, but unfortunately my key was not helpful. I had already removed the Driver side window, so I did not have the switch to operate the trunk.Seeing the switch I saw it was just shorting (closing the circuit) the two wires to open the trunk. I just used the nose player to short the two ends, the truck got opened. During these operations I forgot to start the engine, which I was doing in between to make sure things are fine.
For a surprise, when I started the engine, it struggled to come up and did not come up. When the key was ON, I hear a noise in the space between the batter and the engine (NISSAN 1990,engine is ...30E,new alternator and batter).After some time the sound also stopped and engine never seems to respond to the key.I feel some where some short circuit has happen which had drained my batter. But still I am able to operate the door lock and unlock button with the driver's lefthand control panel. but windows are responding to the up/down button. I am not sure how to see whether the batter is dead or not. I fear if there is any shortcircuit , If I give a jump start other vehicle also will lose it alternator circuit,etc. So I didnot try jumpstart. So guys here I stand. I mind is still thinking thinking, I am not able to work at my office,because of this.... Your valuable suggestions are highly appreated. I am afraid of showing to a mechanic, since I had been ripped most of the times. I hardly find any trust worthy mechanic. Hence I wanted to do all by myself, but screwed my dear running car like this.

I thought it could be around $5 for each one. It's because the harness (2Nos) was aroung $1.79. I was amazed , because it's just a piece of plastic but seller is taking advantage that it's an important part for an automobile

could be the battey was dying.. how old is i.. time for a red top or yellow top optima battery
.... but check to see if the battery is fully charged if not then that is your problem.. I was installing my udp at the mechanics and had the same problem that my max wouldnt start.. it was a dead battery since i had alot of accessories on during the 2 hours of installing my mods and tuning up the max.
