Timing belt, up-date on my new interior

well boys and girls,
i think its time to replace the timebelt...
- do you think I would be able to do it? do you really need to drop the engine?!? if so I'm gonig to let a pro do it.
it doesnt seem that hard of a job.. take off belt cover, loosen belt tensioner (or replace if its bad) then put on new belt and tighten it up (so you can just turn the belt with your hands 1/4 of a turn. o yeah and make sure i dont change the timing of the enigne cuz... then im effed

My new interior is comming great!
- im working on all the doors now.. you can see ur reflection in evey piece, sanding is such a b*tch.
but its going to be worth evey penny
ill have pics up asap
- it looks 100x better then that old super ricy blue

*any help on the timing belt issue wil be great, thanx

I think anything will better than the blue for the interior. About the timing its not hard, I have done them at the shop and its just you have to set the timing marks correctly and also you should replace the water pump since its right there. My mechanic friend tells me that if its not done correctly it can be fatal like bending a valve, but if you feel confident and have the necessary tools I say go for it, I would do it in my backyard if I had a timing belt in my car.

haha yeah.. that old blue was really! realy bad..(i was yong and stupid, but now im older.. and a little bit smarter... the new stuff looks great..
water pump?! nooo.. dont tell me that! now i have to spend more moeny
- so, i dont have to pull the engine or anything liek that?.. just go from the top and take out all thoes lines/hoses so i can see the cover..?
-o yeah ,what do the marks look like? im guessing if i move the cam gears around.. i have to move the crank gear too..
-yeah, if i **** the timeing up all the pistons will hit the valves... and the enigne will be fuked... soo no pressure ... i'm screwed

any more info on this would be helpfull
