black and mild cigars

they taste great, smell great, and are pretty cheap. they also help you find vacuum leaks that you can't hear when you put the intake under pressure .

i found my vacuum leak tonight by blowing smoke through the intake and finally got that fixed. it was at the number 2 injector. the idle is much better but i still don't seem to be getting very good vacuum which is really weird... i must still have a vacuum leak but i don't understand how my idle would be good if i did have one. my vacuum is at about 10 inhg still, maybe a little more like 11 or 12. guess i'll go blow some more smoke through there.

on a bad note i think my tranny is bad again...
i'm getting loud bearing noise while in neutral and when i push the clutch pedal down it goes away. borg warner can suck my ****... i'm so sick of this ****. i'm about 2 seconds away from selling the car and getting either a 300zx tt or a 2002 subaru wrx... seriously. borg warner can go to he||

say if you alternator was bad and your engine was running off of the battery could the idle be worsened by that??

possiably, but I'd say it depends more on the charge of the battery. I remember Matt93SE saying once that he drove for 30+minutes on his battery (IIRC), I believe he was going to pickup a new altenator or something, I just remember him mentioning it.

well... my battery won't start my car at the moment and i've been running my engine earlier tonight. the alternator isn't charging at all and i'm now wondering if running off of the battery is causing some of my trouble.

Well now that you mention that, I certianly wouldnt rule out that possiability. I am hesitant to say that is the problem because I dont have much personal experience with this situation, but since the battery cant even start the car, I would say there is a really good chance of it being the problem.

Charge up the battery and give it a shot, or break out the jumper cables, or maybe do both

i'll give it nice shot of 200 cranking amps to get it going... lol. i'll just charge it for about an hour at 40 amps and it should stay charged for a little while. then i'll probably go get a new alternator and see if that helps.

Fried alternators cause some wierd and varied problems on cars.

i've had an alternator die on me before in my gxe but i can't remember if my idle was crappy... oh well, i need to replace it nonetheless. if my tranny is bad i think i'll get a 92-94 lsd tranny or 95+ altima lsd tranny since i know some alti guys that are sending some crazy power through those things and aren't breaking them.

Is this a direct bolt up, or is there serious custom work needed???

well, i'm not really sure actually. the bolt pattern is the same between the ka24de and the vg/ve. I'm going to try finding one and see if it will work. I'll let everyone know if does work because these tend to be a bit cheaper than the ve lsd tranny.

Even if it bolts up directly will it work with v6. Sorry, man as you can tell I don't know a whole lot about trannys, but I just wondering if this is off a 4 cylinder altima, or did they have some v6 altimas back in 95.

nissan apparently used the same tranny in both cars so really... it's neither a V6 nor a I4 tranny (meaning it's not really setup for the power of one and not of the other)... it's just the RS5F50V.
