car wont start

This is the whole story. It began with a really bad rain storm. My car was parked at my apartments when i noticed the back half of the car was in a foot of water. I really didn't think this would effect my car. The next morning I went to start it and no luck So I caught a ride to work. During my lunch hour I went back home to see if it would start. Yes it started. I began to drive it like I always do (like a bat out of hell) and it did fine. Next thing I know It stalls. Usually I lose power and then it comes back. I know a lot of maxima owners know what I'm talking about. This time it was not the same. I towed my car to work. I have the factory manual so I began troubleshooting my delema. I also tried the search option on here with no luck
After a month of being ****ed off at my 92 max i desided it was time for it to come back to life. I began with the fuel pump check and that was good. Next the spark plug test. NO GOOD???? Ok, I'm pretty mechanically inclined so I started checking the electrical circiuts. 1St all these components check to be good: battery, power transsistor, ignition relay, all ignition coils, all fuses and fusible links, e.c.u., all connectors, eccr. To be frank with you I check everything I could think of. Knowing a mechanic would rape me in useless charges I kept trying to find out the problem.
MAIN PROBLEM no power to ignition coils and relays.
LAST RESORT: Giving power to the ignition relay. I put a jumper wire from the +battery side to the ignition coil relay. WOALA The max was a live again.
SYMPTOMS: IT cranked but would not start.

P.S. This is a risk cause it may cause other problems, but for me it solved all mine and saved me a lot of money.

Yup, just the backhalf of the car. I dont see how this would affect the engine. All i know is that hooking up this jumper wire got my car started. In some shape or form I lost power from the battery to the ignition coil relay

humm.. only thing in the back of the car is the fuel pump but did the water even get that high ? i have a feeling the water has nothing to do with your problem. seems like a freak occurence that it happened at the same time. oh and that losing power every once in a while is most likely your spark plugs. if they are bosch then thats you power loss problem..NGK's the way to go bosch spikes the ecu for some reason. read that in another thread.

Obviously you have 2 problems, no crank and no start. For the no crank, check the ignition switch's 12V output and trace that to the coil.

Also you say the coil's good? Did you actually check continuity when energizing/de-energizing? Alot of people assume that it's good if it clicks.

As far as the no start problem, check the engine control fuse. That fuse, when blown, will kill any pulses to ignition coil primaries.
