In cabin filter?????

Do the 1993 maximas have an in cabin filter. I've never cleaned it since it was new from 1993. Can anyone teach me how to clean it and take it out? Thanks

I don't think they started that until the late 90s or early 2000s. I could be wrong, but I've owned two 92 Maximas, a 95 200SX, a 95 Pathfinder and none had in-cabin filters.

I'm not sure about my 2000 Infiniti. It probably has one, I just haven't got around to reading the owner's manual.

I agree - Late 90's for the in-cabin filters. I'd sure like to see a retrofit to the 3rd Gen though - Pollen/Allergies here in Oklahoma are terrible - labled as 'All Hope Abandon Ye who enter here with Allergies" in books on Allergies in regions of the US. Anyone ever looked at this?

My 92 has one there really easy the top just kind of pops off. To expose the filter element which a black peice of foam from memory or something like that. Think that its screwed to the shelf from underneth
Never use it really only use it when theres people in the back with the heater going helps the back get more warm air. But I just found that it was a pain makes it hard as hell to change or do any thing on the back shelf.

I would take a photo but I have no digi camera.

hope this helps

Maybe, Spazz, yours is only specific to non-US Max's. Just a thought...

I think that must only be on the Maximas that you can deliver mail in

Wow, that must be a European-spec Maxima thing, because even the Canadian Maximas don't have a pollen filter.

I vaguely recall someone retrofitting his 4th Gen with one, and I'm sure if you were creative you might be able to do it with a 3rd Gen, but it'd probably involve an awful lot of hacking since our cars weren't provisioned for it AFAIK.
