I dont think you would save a lot on anything besides custom manifolds. Are you thinking about twin turbo? It's pretty tough to do...

VG's have it pretty 'easy' in terms of turboing, VE's might want to hold off until those kits that have been mentioned come around. When they actually show up, beats me.

Look in the 3rd gen classifieds, there is a guy selling the manifolds, turbo, downpipe and some other things, it is a good part of what you would need. You would just need to have some other piping done.

n2o is MUCH more expensive in the long run. I mean a bottle fill costs $40 and if you use it like a turbo, you'll be filling your bottle every three days...

you need to do some research.

and before you guys are so quick to say you would be down, I dont think you have any idea what the costs would be, or what the price of maintaining a FI car is.

none, all you have to do is port it to an oval shape, make sure the bolts line up (if they don't just use duct tape) and then slap a t4 on there and watch your engine make power up the @ss... :

I checked prices for a custom turbo setup for a VE and for the entire setup with the piping, turbo, and intercooler, plus installation it came up to close to $5,000. If anyone can beat that price I am interested. One way or another im boosting my car, I just need to find a good deal. And N34JZ is right the upkeep cost of a boosted engine that wasn't built for boost is very expensive, so I hope you all have deep pockets!

internetautomar- sorry, boredom got the best of me. I dont have a turbo, just a fidanza

StRacer718- There was another turbo thread not to long ago, if you look hard enough you can find the people who actually have all the parts to build the turbo, now its just a matter of them getting some free time to put it together.

Bummer Dude
I don't recall anyone turboing the VE just the VG. I can get the turbo and fab up the pipes. I just don't know where to run everything. if anyone has pics I'd appreciate it.

we're not telling who we are, for the simple fact that we're tired of getting zillions of emails about it and nobody doing anything other than saying "I'll buy it if it's out there!"
Well, guys... everything IS out there. you can't just write a check and open a box and bolt it on. it's NOT that easy. complete new intake, exhaust piping, fuel management, etc etc etc. you have to relocate a lot of hoses and wiring, and a lot of other fun stuff. that's all assuming you don't get stupid, turn the boost **** too far and blow th engine to bits.

write a check for $5k and have fun? I don't think so. write a check for $5k... spend a few months getting everything installed, then write another check for $3k when you instantly blow your engine and have to buy another one and install it on short notice. blah blah blah.

if someone wants to do more than talk, I'm willing to listen. until then, don't waste your time or mine.

(and if you have to ask for pics of people who had turbos in their VE, then you're not looking hard enough on these forums, and you don't need to be trying it yourself. do something original. put down the pictures, open up your hood and get to work.)

I saw 4signs' VE turbo about a month ago. His tranny keeps blowing and its still a "work in progress" . It looked pretty nice, except for the ground clearance. He did it all himself. I think I'll just go with nitrous if I desire more power
