I agree with matt. There's just too much time&money involved for little to no return.

What we could do, as a community, is to get 50 guys together to donate for the project development cost to a guy(s) who is(are) credible, skillful, and trustworthy. In other words, put up or shut up.

back to crazy's post....
Who the hell do you think is going to go through their time and effort to custom build the kit?!?! You guys are like a bunch of effin penguins.. everyone standing around pushing and shoving until one falls in the water to make sure there's no sharks. when that one doesn't get eaten, the rest jump in after it thinking it's safe.

It's what happens on every mod. How many ground kits did you see on 3rd gens until I made them (which are now being copied every day by someone)? How many RSTBs do you see out there? How many with custom big brake kits? How many with custom rear brake setups? How many lower tie bars do you see? How many bought subframes before warpspeed tested half a dozen cars with them? how many bought a $300 Y pipe before they saw "dyno proof" that they gained power?

Don't be a penguin man.. If you want something new, go out and do it yourself and let everyone else copy off you. (then see how it feels)
well said matt. I have been thinking about putting a kit together for a while, but I just dont have the time or the money right know. I have been boosting for almost a yr, and I still havent had the time to really tune my car. I was waiting for someone to make a kit for our cars yrs ago, got tired of waiting. If you really want boost and you have a couple grand then go out and get it all the materials, and informations out there.

if you're boosting and spent all the time and research then why are you trying to buy another kit (especially for 800 which would never happen)?

Does it even have to be called "Custom VE Turbo"? I mean can't it just be called "VE Turbo"? I dont know of non custom turbo setup for a VE. Then again, maybe we should look at what custom really means?

heheheh

This is the thread that never ends...
It just goes on and on, my friends...
Just when you think you've reached the end
Some gumby brings it back up again...

The poem is class A, but the red x really takes away from the overall quality of the post. I feel that in this late hour, I will use this smilie, . Had you not included a poem, it would have required the smilie.

so what are you trying to imply ? i just thought i put my thoughts about this tread instead of posting the 1001 thread about 3rd gen turboing.

It kinda interesting to see that poeple always say can this be done can that be done. And when its time to share ideas and plans on making it happen, there are those who would shoot the idea down right then and there. Many people said that man will never get to the moon, and we did. Now when man thinks of turboing a 3rd gen, now that is crazyness.

if someone was to tell me the rough idea on where to go to have one made and tuned and working, then the idea is still alive. now the cost is not very appealing. Yes no one wants to invest the cost of a used 3rd gen for just a boost setup. But where to start. I have searched on the net, and i would like to know what shops there are to talk to around my area that can do this. now is that hard question to ask with out having someone make a smart remark?

Izzy... don't mind me, bro. It's hella late, and I'm at work with not a lot to do. In all fairness, I'd really like to see a VE turbo. Heck, I'd sell some of my I.C.E. to get on THAT bandwagon. My only reservation, being the $800 originally posted seems awfully low in the big scheme of things. I think you, too, mentioned that.

It was my intention to just throw a bit of humor into an otherwise stressful situation for everyone, cuz it seems everyone hits the "flame on" button one time too many. Now granted, we've heard our fair share of VE turbo posts in our time, but out of all those, I only saw ONE that even came close to giving some indication of there being a possibility of VE turbos coming to fruition. And even then, alot of the so-called "vets" here called out

I just want to see a bit more info regarding this, is what I'm saying

(and all this IN BEFORE THE LOCK)
