If you guys reach the 10 order minimum for this group deal I give you much props because I really don't think you'll find that number here. Does this GB include other gens, there's a lot of 4th gener's in your tri-state area.

StRacer, how Springfield Garden's doing my old stomping grounds (area of Merrick and Springfield) I've heard they've built a lot in the past several several years.

Maybe $800 for the pre-bend pipes and flanges which you bring to local welder and have them weld together. Sounds like you really need to do some more homework on this deal before you start posting prices. Was this $800 quoted from them or your assumption. If it was quoted from them find out exactly what's involved and what you're getting. Good luck

hell yeah.. isnt that what everyone does when a new mod comes out.. the wait and see if its safe and functional.? I dont have tons of money to spare, let alone spend to tweek out and to see what works or doesnt, There are very few pioneers out there with that type of funds. I was just asking that i wish there was someone that works in the custom set up biz to hook us up. Just like how 4th gens get all the toys, there was a time where no one would like to spend the money in the turbo project.. now if you do a search on the net on maxima turbo you will find there are some sites out there tha have pre built bolt set up waiting to be purchased for 4-5k, that is what i am saying.

talk any to max owner on this board that has a "turbo kit" from someone who has "pioneered" it. you still have bugs to tweek out. if you want a daily driver and don't have time to spare then a turbo isn't for you because it WILL be high maintenance...................

i now about the maintance.. i am just saying the cost of trying to acutally make a setup. its like the 4th gens and s/c with the belts and etc that they have to keep watch of, but everyone can by one and have it installed and ready to run after little tuning with all the neccessary accessory.

if someone makes a kit for our maxima that is ready to go, whats wrong with just buying one and not having to be a guinee pig.

we are going way off topic of this thread.. enough flame . i think california got enough for all of us.

think about that... you think someone is gonna waste 1000s of dollars and man hours to just "throw" a kit out there that might be buggy with shoddy production?? having no guinea pig and just throwing a product out there is one of the dumbest ideas a fabricator/company could ever do...cause when something goes wrong the company has to answer to those problems and make improvements on their own time and money....thats plain stupid from a business standpoint. look at it from the business side and not from the "I'm pressed for some quick boost" side. thats the wrong mentality to take ESPECIALLY when dealing with FI...and probably the reason why if there was a kit 99.9% of the guys on here would blow their motor on the same day.

nono not saying that to just slap it on and thats it...i am just saying is that what every other 4th gen owner that wants a s/c in that case, just buy the kit and put it on.. s/c on a 4thgen was in the design phase and no one wanted to shell out the money. now when it became mass produce anyone with 4k can get it installed.. that is the point i am tyring to make..

Ummm, look at the pic of the engine a little closer. tell me if that's a 3rd gen engine.

back to crazy's post....
Who the hell do you think is going to go through their time and effort to custom build the kit?!?! You guys are like a bunch of effin penguins.. everyone standing around pushing and shoving until one falls in the water to make sure there's no sharks. when that one doesn't get eaten, the rest jump in after it thinking it's safe.

It's what happens on every mod. How many ground kits did you see on 3rd gens until I made them (which are now being copied every day by someone)? How many RSTBs do you see out there? How many with custom big brake kits? How many with custom rear brake setups? How many lower tie bars do you see? How many bought subframes before warpspeed tested half a dozen cars with them? how many bought a $300 Y pipe before they saw "dyno proof" that they gained power?

Don't be a penguin man.. If you want something new, go out and do it yourself and let everyone else copy off you. (then see how it feels)

well isnt that what modding is all about??? yes there is also the plesure of doing and making your own mods, but to share for the rest of the community is what this is about..

and whats with the flame.

all i said was i wish there was someone or a company that is willing to do it, its all wishfull thinking, would you tell a kid that his dream of being president is shot cause he was handicapped?

just like stillen took the 4th gen and z and many other cars and made products for them, that is all i am saying. now will it happen, no. but all it is wishfull thinking and praying. I would love to make one if i had the skills and the tools to do it. beleive me. and to share the mod with fellow org members, that is the reason we all ask questions here, and seek help... i just didnt want this thread to get locked like the rest of the turbo thread.. but there is always fighting and bickering going on. I praise all the folks that take time to make things for our maxima, such like you matt.. it what makes it fun to drive a better than average car..

Izzy.. calm down man... My point is that if everyone stands around waiting for someone else to build it, then who the f*** is going to be doing the building?!
Stillen? Hell no. JWT? Hell no. There's no money in it for them now- do you blame them? the turbo setup will cost more than 90% of the cars are worth. it would be a stupid investment for most companies like that.

The main reason I haven't pushed as hard as I have on it is the same thing. why spend several thousand dollars and all this work for nothing in return but a bunch of people to say "Send me the designs! I want everything. pipes, angles, cuts, how many welds. I want the bolts and sizes, and part numbers to all of it. But I don't want to pay you for your hard work and dedication to the project."

Why would anyone want to mess with that?
I've gotten to the point that when I do a mod, I take a few pics of it, tell you what it does, and post a price. If you want more info about it, you can buy one and find out yourself.

"Giving back to the community" isn't what this is all about. It's one thing to share maintenance tips, or a cool new product you found online somewhere, but to go through that much time and effort for a bunch of people to openly criticize (then blatantly copy) your work? no thanks.
