BMW E36 Headlights

Alright, I've searched and searched and searched and I still can't find my answer. I know this sounds very newbieish, but, I need to know how to take the stock headlights out? I've got the diagrams from my Haynes manual, but, it doesn't make sense? I know that you take the two bolts next to the corner light off, but, where are the other bolts to take off? Also, I'm wondering how I should hook up the 9005/9006 lights for the E36 conversion? And info. will be immensly appreciated!! Thanks in advance.

2 other bolts near the radiator

For the lights, buy two 9005 and two 9006 harnesses. Wire them into your existing one using a test light to figure out which one is the low beam and which one is the high beam.

There are two next to the radiator. One is a nut, one is a bolt.

Don't mess with the 8mm thing sticking out. That is the horizontal alignment adjuster thing.

Ummmm, if you can't even figure out how to remove the factory lights........ Please take this job to someone who knows what they're doing.

I went to Dennis' website and I saw the links he had were outdated. Heck, Jon (ngthing) has **** linked to his site (which makes one wonder just WHAT he's been up to lately...).

But I agree, there's little to NO info on just how the lights come off or where the bolts/nuts are located. I know when I did my lights, I pretty much had to feel my way around until I finally found all of 'em. PITA, but unless you can get a clearer grasp of that Haynes book, you'll probably have to go that route.

The wiring, I can definately help you with, as I've saved a couple of bits of info on that to a disk somewhere. I'll look it up. PM me and I'll help ya out all I can.

just loosen up any bolts behind the headlight on the radiator support. there arent many there and as soon as the light comes loose youll kick yourself in the butt for not figuring it out. i know it took me a while the first time around.

Yeah, I found them after talking to nubiannupe and I've got the headlights totally installed now. I think they look alright, but they have way too much gap! I'm still trying to work on fixing the gap.
