how to clean inside of headlight??
Has anyone cleaned the inside of their headlight? my driver side headlight seems have fogged up inside...any one with experience in this area?
is it safe to take off the metal clips and seperate the glass from the plastic back? is the process reversible?

i didn't know this was possible. i kind of want to clean my passenger side headlight as well. don't know how dust and crap got in there. i never left the bulb out for more than a minute when i swapped the OEM lights to the silverstars.

yes its doable.. i cleaned mine out,
just remove the whole headlight assembly then heat up the glue around the perimeter of the glass/plastic housing and gently pull apart and you have acess
now if only i could take apart my dam E36s lights as easy as that, its like glued on with 800 pounds of crazy glue or something

-before u do this i recomend getting a good automotive adhesive to add to the glass housing before u put it back on..(not too much)
- arent thoes glass headlight pieces like 300 bucks or somthing?

Guys its a lot easier than all of that.
My E36 lights were extreemly cloudy when I got them. U poured alchahol in them (from where the bulb goes) and swished it around in there for a while. Then I put soapy water in there and then ran clean water through there. Next you sit it out in the sun to dry for a while and your good to go.
After doing this my lights were crystal clear and still are...Of course the only problem with this is the E36 lights have a slot in the bottom of each round light which would allow water to get to the outside lens and if you dont have it where you can take it off it might be hard to get the liquid out of the outside lens. I had mine off anyway so its not a big deal.

mike i was trying to remove the outer plastic cover so i can do the 3rd gen covers to make it flush with the front end.. its seriously welded on there, i had it heating up for about 20 mins and i started cracking the black housing so i stopped trying
and about readhesing the stock lights, just pop the glass lens back on the housing and push it in good and put those 2 clips back on.. done
it would be a good idea to heat up the glue again so it sticks/seals better
