I just bought a 92 GXE. When trying to unlock the car from the driver's door, the alarm goes off when I open the door. Also, turning the key in the door both ways after the alarm goes off does nothing. However, if I try to unlock it from the passenger side, it works fine. Also, I can shut the alarm off if it is sounding from the passender door as well.
From what I gathered in the Search on here, you're supposed to be able to shut off/disarm the alarm from the driver's door, so I'm really confused...

if you just wan`t to disarm the alarm for good all you need to do is open the hood look for the hood alarm pin , pill off the two cables wrap then together and the alarm will never arm again.

I don't want to disarm it for good - every little security bit helps...

How do I check the door trigger for sure? Where is it located/what does it look like? I know I know, I should just get a Chilton's or something...

i have the same problem. i'm going to resolder the door lock timer joints this weekend (after exams) to see if it helps. you can disable the alarm from the trunk too fyi.

try turning the key clockwise twice in the driver's door. if it doesn't unlock all doors after the second turn, then you probably need to resolder just like i do. not a big fix.

Key pad master code is on the control box by the glovebox. Do a search and you should find a post with better details
