This weekend I cleaned all the sensor connectors I could reach and installed a 470K ohm resistor in the knock sensor lead after researching the hard idle and lack of low-mid range power in the wife's 92 SE.
All I can say is 15 minutes of easy work has the Max running better than it has in... well ever!
It feels like it did when we drove it for the first time! It's not as strong as the VQ in my 02 Alty but it will spin the front tires from a stop again!

I hope you remember to run 93 ALL the time. The resistor is meant as a diagnostic tool not a fix.Originally Posted by dadster

cool! glad to hear your having good results. And internetautomar is correct, it is mean't to be a diagnostic tool, its just that some of us (cough) are using it as a poor/lazy mans fix

today was cold.... like see your breath cold.... kind of surprised me. Now I need to fix my heater controls (they only go 2/3rd the way over on the temperature setting). Mustang has had frost on it all today, maxima didnt though.

Weather has been crazy up here. Two days ago the high temp was 75. Today it was about 45. In N. Washington they had massive flooding last week. I wore shorts to work Tuesday and Thursday I wore thermal underwear and a stocking hat, since it was about 30 degrees when I first started out.
