Help !!.....bmw Headlight Install.....help !!

Im trying to do the regular US spec light install(I know I know should have did the Euros) but I wanna make sure I do it right. Does anybody remember how they did it because SkyMax's site is down and NGthing just decided to buy a friggin **** company and advertise it on his page instead. I read the Bmw conversion on geocities and I know how to do the wiring but how do I go about doing the brackets. Some say remove the orginal BMW brackets and others say keep it on. I always use search before I ask anything so if anyone can help me out I greatly appreciate it.

use the maxima's brackets, not the bmw's.

i used 2 3"x1" strips of sheet metal per light (1 top, 1 bottom) and attached them using 2 screws per strip.

first you need to cut away at the maxima bracket to make it wider. then fit in the bmw light. then attach using your brackets.

good luck.

I'm sorry my website isn't working. It seems as though Geocities deleted my account since it has been inactive for months. I have uploaded a new website for the BMW Conversion...

The Euros are a pain and a half to get in. The US spec ones are easier to get in and look just about as good. With the Euro specs once you get done cutting out the core/radiator support big enough to fit them in there is no way (at least easily) the stockers are going back in. At least with the US spec you can use the stock brackets to mount them with. For those who are thinking about doing the Euros the only advice i can give is to forget trying to use the stock headlight brackets to hold in the new ones.

Dennis, I STILL have you on my MSN IM, so I see you pop up from time to time whenever I'm on.

I got the brackets done but I can't figure out how to get them flush or at least close to it. They sit a about an inch back and under the hood. Maybe I made the bracket I used for the top a lil too short. I'll try again on Saturday. Hey E, how's da ride on those 17's playa ?

Hey folks, I read about the differences between the Euro and US spec... not sure what ya'll mean, but do either of these lights work?>>

These links will require you to click accordingly (it's a parts wholesale site) to reach the picture.

BMW 1
(off of a '99 318TI)

BMW 2
(off of a '98 M3)

or are they both the same? I can't tell differences since I don't know what the diff is between US and Euro spec.

The euro specs use projectors in the low beams and have glass lenses instead of plastic. neither one of those are the euro specs.
