Heater

Man its getting cold and my heater does seem to be acting right. Here's the problem. If I turn the heater on floor and vents, it heats up the car just fine, but if I turn the heater on just the floor, I get cold air through the vents. What could the problem be. My first thoughts would be a leak some where, but I don't know where to start looking. Thanks for any help

Doesn't sound like a dumb question to me. Sounds like something I forgot to do, that would make a lot of sense. I'll double check that.

Yeh isn't that switch just to control the outside air coming in or not? I turn it on sometimes when i turn the a/c off, on a decent day.

it lets outside air to blow right in your face, which is good if you like to keep head in cold
but I guess it's come kind of nissan's joke - I had the same control option in jag xjs but I was able to change colder/warmer (it's so called face control option)

My heater **** only goes about 2/3's of the way over, so I'm lucky to get warm air.
Hopefully I'll be fixing it soon though.

Thanks fellas, that's what is was. Now I feel like a big retard. I guess I think everything is a big leak on my Max, the way the oil is leaking and my air intake whistles like you wouldn't believe.
