just got my WSP stainless Y pipe installed today, and under 3/4 throttle or any throttle around corners, it makes a rubbing sound. i assume this is bad, and need help curing it before i am buying another pipe! -thanks

That really sucks. My Cattman y-pipe did the same thing and I could not rectify the problem, even by replacing my motor mounts. I put my OEM y-pipe back on because it got smashed from hitting the ground too. Waste of $300!

when it's on the car (engine off car level) how much clearance do u have? if there's at least a good solid inch and a half or more space and you're still hitting the sway bar then check your engine mounts, they might be worn or broken.

well with cattman's there wasn't enough room from the get-go. but i beleve WSP's pipe have more space built it compared to cattman's.

Either you got one of the older designs, or your engine mounts are compeltely shot.

my WSP pipe has tons of room before it will hit the sway bar. I was one of the people who helped them with the design to get around this problem.. the first pipe we/they installed on my car also rubbed..
beforewe took my car to the shop for dyno testing, they switched it with a different one designed with more clearance.
now I've got almost 2" of clearance between my pipe and sway bar.

Trying to understand some of these things you guys are always talking about..the Y-pipe (WSP, Cattman brands?) you always mention is the pipe that runs from the engine to the muffler? And this sway bar is a stablizer the runs between the two rear wheels?

You are dead on with your definition of the Y pipe. The y-pipe connects the headers from the engine to the exhaust pipe/catalytic converter on the car. In my case, I was originally going to look at the Cattman until I started seeing the rubbing issue surface and I got more information on the WarpSpeed. Plus, the WarpSpeed pipe is $100 less than the Cattman, but you get a greater gain in horsepower.

Sway bars are technically called stabilizer bars that can be placed on either the front or rear wheels. The thicker the bar is, the flatter (e.g. less body roll) you will corner. But bear in mind that the sways are only a component of making a Max's suspension handle better.
