ignition relay == starter relay?

I need to replace my starter relay (flakey response). I can find no entry for a starter relay but all of the online parts places list an ignition relay.

same thing?

Not Generally speaking.
Pull a # off the old relay and run it through KEM's interchange and then maybe you'll have your answer

there are 2 ignition relays (blue) and one starter/inhibitor relay (grey).
the ignition relays are inside the car and the starter relay is under the coolant reservoir.

I'll pull the part number and do the xref. Under the coolant reservoir??? I found mine on the sheetmetal of the left front strut area (just in front of the master cylinder...)... blue, wires running to the starter....

the location might be different for people w/o abs apparently. mine is under the coolant reservoir in a box with other relays.

Okay, to wrap this post up, I bought a $14 starter relay from NAPA, swapped it with the original and ALL of my intermittent starting problems are gone. 4 days and no issues at all.

I am soooo happy to have my car sort of back to normal, next, I need to swap out those Bosh plugs...
