JWT Stage 2 VG30E cams available...
#1
I've gotten my hands on a couple more pairs of the difficult to obtain JWT cams (Stage 2) for the VG30E engine.
These are billet cams, not regrinds. The only thing that will truly open up the top end on this engine. BTW, they'll do the trick on a 84-89 300ZX too.
Contact me with any questions, or call my order line at 800.795.1513 to order. Price is $550.

ok, from what ive heard these cams are really good. im not doubting the quality of them in any way at all. but why are they sooo damn expensive???? that price seems kinda outragous for cams. i would definitly jump on getting a pair if i didnt think they were so overpriced. you can open up a jegs or summit racing catalog and look for cams...not one is priced over $300. they dont have any for maximas but im just sayin.

That price is right
Like Maximamike said the domestic engines only have 1 cam were as we have 2 of them. Also if you get regrinds you have to get new lifters which are $300 for all 12. Basically it evens out in the end so go with the JWT cams. They are the best overall cams for stock valve springed SR20DE's, no reason for them not kicking *** in a VG30E.

They do seem high, but I can at least tell you why they're so much. First the blank cams are more expensive than a lot of finished cams, and they're practically impossible to get from Nissan; and they are only available from Nissan.
The JWT-developed design involves some very sophisticated software design and modelling and then a lot of R&D and dyno testing on the car. I've seen the setup and the modelled results they get, its pretty cool. They are very particular about what they'll accept from the machine shop and carefully profile every single cam that they send out.
Finally, the dealer markup on JWT's hardware is generally pretty poor, and these have a ridiculously miserly markup, so I hardly make enough on these to make them worthwhile. In fact, I sell them right at JWT's price, not a little lower like most of the other JWT parts I sell. They get so few of these that they're rationed, and I get them infrequently. But they are so neat and do so much for the engine, I order them anyway. Its the only way to go for someone building a VG30E.
Not cheap, but I could point out that at least you don't need four in the VG30E engine. [JWT's race cams for the 300ZXTT are $1100.] Yes, its the only game in town, but I hope you can see that no one is really gouging on this deal, except perhaps Nissan.
