Learned my lesson

I bought a 1993 GXE, it had 177K on it. I knew it had problems with the stearing but I only paied 1K for the car so I didnt care. But for the amount of time, money, and effort it has taken me to correct the stearing problem (and im not entirely done yet, plz see other post), I could have just bought an SE and called it a day. After going through the car, I realized that I have no way of knowing if the timming belt has ever been replaced...so after Im done with the stearing Ill have to replace the belt just so I know its been done. Had I bought an SE I woudnt be messing with this sh*t. So much for fuel economy and a great 1K deal... BTW I just saw an SE for sale and I think he wanted 2K for it. Ill have that wrapped up in this car easy by the end of the month. I guess you get what you pay for.

Sorry to hear that man. Maxs are great cars, don't be discouraged. If you can get an SE, that would be better, if not I wish you luck, any technical questions post them, there's alot of smart guys on the org.

i got my max fo 2500, not a problem with it when i bought it, it only had 125000 miles on it but its a gxe. i saw a 91 se for sale the other day for 4000, and that had like 180000, someone already bought it, fool. but anyways, steering can be a b**ch, i know, thats what toyota suck about, it should get better for you, and i agree, id go for an SE anyways
