i'd like to shorten the throws on my manual, but am not too hot on the idea of getting under the car to do it, so i was going to install an aftermarket shift **** on top of a cut rod. anyone have reccomendations on brands/how to go about this?

thanks

shortened shifter..

while it may not actually "shorten your shifts", it DOES feel a lot better, and is more comfortable than the stock height of the shifter.. i cut mine, just use a dremel or a hack saw and cut it right about a 1/4 inch below the screw part is a good height, the i shaved down the parts that stick out of the sides that hold the shift boot in place to reposition it.. pics of the after look can be found on my homepage. in the car pics section.
