e36 headlight question and cam question

1)I did search for this and I can't find an answer but is there anyway to run the 9006 headlight with the 9005 headlight when the high beams are on ? I was thinking of hooking the 9006 to the high beams along with the 9005. Since the low beam goes off when the headlights are switched to high then the power from the low should turn off and just the high should running right?

2) Has anybody gotten the JWT cams or did any engine work other than turbo? Just wanna get some info on it because I'm thinking about getting some new cams and tryin to build up the engine along with my mods.

You do realize that the max only has 1 headlight bulb per side not 2.

1) Not a good idea. You would lights would be running waaaaayyy to bright. Also, did you pick up the upgraded harness, this is a must or you might melt your factory harness.

Yes there is a way to do this. I have mine setup so that when the high beam, 9005, comes on the low beam, 9006, is also on. You will need a relay.

Ask Craig B, he's the one that showed me how to do it with a simple relay schematic. I have the schematic somewhere in my messy garage but it would be faster if you just ask Craig.

Why would you melt the harness? High and low beam have 2 separate circuits and separate wires. With the BMW setup its with 2 separate bulbs too. High beams use the same wattage as low beams the only thing that is different is the beam pattern. I've been trying to figure this out for my own set-up using the factory relays with my H1 bulbs. I'll just wait until i get my HIDs.

Okay wha if I get an upgraded headlight harness for the 9006 bulbs? If I get that and then rewire the high beam to the low beam on the lights so that when the highs come on that the light still stays on will that work or will I still need a relay ?

Oh and I still wanna know has anybody gotten the JWT cams and installed them or did any kind of engine work for horsepower without adding turbo (as in cams, pistons, etc...)

you need a way to keep the highs from going on with the lows.
Thats why u use a relay.

evilyak did something a while back to make his low beams stay on when you turn on the highs without using relays. He took apart the headlight switch and cut a little piece out of there

if you really want the relay thing, I think it takes two relays and I could figure it out again but a lot of people like the headlight switch thing better

Can someone explain how you do the headlight switch mod for the lights to both stay on when you turn on your high beams? If I cant find out then Imma just try the harness idea. The switch sounds easier though
