as long as you get axles from the same engine you should be fine.

I have a quick answer.

No.

Auto and manual axles are different. Engine doesn't matter when it comes to axles.

YES, it matters which engine you use. Please don't spout ininformed information like that.

auto/ 5 spd axles are different
ABS/ no ABS axles are different.
LSD/ no LSD axles are different.
VE/ VG axles are different.

Last time I talked to Kaleb, There are something like 32 different axles out there for a 3rd gen Maxima. do you think all of them will fit? prolly not.

go to www.autozone.com and there's a great parts search program in there.. you can look up the aftermarket part #s yourself and order online even.

You VG guys are lucky basstards.
the ABS ones will even work in a non-abs car, but not vice versa.

it's hell trying to find axles for a VE M/T w/ LSD w/o abs.. usually special order, takes 2 weeks, etc.

Thats weird i got mine within 2 hrs at work. I have the same thing you have when it comes to tranny options. By the way i've never came across a VE auto or manual that didn't have LSD. According the Nissan parts guy at the dealership my shop deals with all VE M/T have LSD as standard equipment.

Another thing is that whats more important is which tranny you have. I'm not spouting out uninformed info seeing that the part numbers from Nissan for the VG LSD and VE LSD are identical. Yes, when you search for the parts they ask for all the options but most of the time if you select "Not Sure" or "Don't know" when it comes to those options there will be a listing for all the parts in that category. For example when i search for spark plugs for a 85 golf the computer asks if its a diesel.
