First time on the track!

went out to speedworld in phoenix for our annual homecoming drags... I feel i did pretty well for a first timer.

Timeslip as follows (no scanner, sorry!):

___Right Lane___

Anton Kraemer

Dial-in: 16.500 (missed the time trials... thought it would be low/high enough.. was gunna put 17...)

R/T: 1.168 (sun was sorta blocking my good view of the last yellow)

Interval 1 (60ft): 2.548
I2: 7.056
I3: 10.831
MPH (I3): 61.897 (knew I was slow... but not that slow! )
I4: 14.099

E.T.: 16.970
MPH: 81.809

Over/Under: .470

___Left Lane___ (97 SHO)

Dial: 16.000

R/T: 1.033

I1: 2.452
I2: 6.775
I3: 10.299
MPH (I3): 70.499
I4: 13.324

E.T.: 16.445
MPH: 67.623

Over/Under: .445

WIN

All in all, it was pretty fun! I'm going tomorrow for the AAI-UTI drags ("rival" school). Gotta bump the timing a bit...

Did you end up bumping the timing? sorry I couldnt call you back, I was driving down to Portland for the meet. I told my Mom before I left that if you called again to tell you to make sure you let your engine cool down.

Good time for the Speed though, then again I dont know how it could have been that low What was the temp and elevation? How was your launch, and when were you shifting?

my launch was at 2000 rpm. minimal tire squeal. shifted at ~55-5800rpm.

altitude was 1200ish ft. temp was ~58 degrees F. Tail winds @ ~10-20 mph.

oh, 3rd was giving me hell again... It wouldn't go in . i need to check my motor mounts.

5500-redline. i start at 1500-2000 rpm and drop the clutch. gives me no wheel hop nor bogs it down. perfect starts everytime.
