Tokico Strut Insert Help

Right now i'm right in the middle of my rear suspsension and i need some help. I took out the gland packing o-ring and the original strut. I just put in the tokico cartridge and the o-ring surrounding it, but now the gland packing won't go down far enough to thread. Is there something I did wrong?

"factory" gland packing wouldn't fit ... look inside of the package - aftermarket gland packings must come with your new struts (if not ... you'll not be able to finish the job ... sorry)

i didnt use the metal O-ring, everything seems to be ok so far. just use the new gland nut (thats what i did with the GR2's that i installed last year along with the tokicos i installed about 2 months ago) and put it back together the way it came out.

Yeh turned out that a couple of my friends that were helping me handed me the cartridge, and didn't realize that there was the new flange...

However, I have a new problem. I finished the front and rear suspension and as i test drove it, I hear a popping noise coming from the rear right assembly. We get out and inspect the problem and while we push up and down on the rear bumber we here it again.

Turns out it's coming from the spring. The spring is scrunched up near the top and it's overlapping one of the other coils everytime it feels anything major. The center bolt is to standard torque settings. Could the spring have possibly turned out of it's grovescausing it to compress higher?

Sounds like you need to pull that side of, remove and reinstall the spring. it may not be seated properly.
