ok, I'll probably forget some things, but heres the gist...

-tranny
-shift linkage
-shifter
-clutch master and slave cylinders
-clutch pedal assembly
-5spd brake pedal
-hydraulic lines/bleeder valves/etc
-I forget which axles are the same and which change. I believe you can reuse the passanger axle?
-transmission mounts
-rewire neutral/park switch to go to the clutch pedal switch
-flywheel (I believe Matt93se is now sold out of VG fidanza's ... Jeff92se might be able to get one, he sells the VQ fidanza's).
-clutch
-the bolts that hold the flywheel to the crank. The ones that come on an auto arent long enough (edit: well there probably long enough, but the 5spd ones are longer because the flex plate is about 2mm thick, while the flywheel was atleast a cm thick)
-gear oil
-loc-tite
-transmission seals
-shift boot/surrounding bezel (for the interior of the car)

I think thats about it.

klowns right you can use your curren axles

your need the ears or mounts that bolt the trany to the engine they are different between the auto and 5spd

you could put a manual brake pedal in but we just got the manual brake pedal boot and sawzalled the auto pedal and put the boot on much much much easier

you also need a template or some dimentions to know where to drill holles for the slave cylinder

Traction, Isn't that what you get in the hospital after you lose it on the street?

You need a donor car sitting right next to your patient. That way you don't get peice mealed for each and every part you need. Especially all those little things no-one ever thinks off until they're almost done and then... DANG! I Need a Heamerdorf Ring!

A donor car isn't exactly necessary, but IMO, it's the only way to go. You can see exactly how everything should fit up after everything is said and done.

You can go purchasing piece by piece, but buying a parts car will save a TON of hassle

a donor car would be the most convienent way but the one i help with we made about 20 trips a 2 diferent junk yards. parts were not that much you guys no the rule anything that fits in a pocket or toolbox is free and most of the little stuff did.

total cost was about 300$ but we used the clutch from the donor car, rebiult the master cylinder and bought a new slave cyinder

a donor car will also be alot cheaper in the long run than sourcing out parts and stuff like that, not to mention easier.

Heck with a donor car and eBay you can come out ahead on a project like that. Everything you don't use (once your SURE you're done) gets sold!

Anybody ever read Grassroots Motorsports for their $2001 challenge?

Bah. I have all the swap parts available from my 5-sp VE parts car sitting in the garage. Everything but the tranny itself. I'd sell it for about $150 shipped.

Keep your ECU it should be fine otherwise use the 90s ecu not 92 as 92 is a VE motor not VG like you have

VE ECU no work with VG

I believe all VG's had VI's anyway, so there is no need to swap VG ECU's.

alright so since im taking my 94 auto out and putting in hopefully a 92 - 94 se stick in, do i need a 90 stick ecu then? also if i was to pull the parts from a maxima with a vg engine, then do i still have to replace as much stuff, like those longer bolts, etc?

if you use a 92 - 94 se 5spd tranny you will need different axles and spindles for your gxe

either way you dont need to change your ecu

if you pull the tranny from a 89-91 vg 5spd you wont need to change axles or spindles

what longer bolts are you talking about
