AUTO climate control conversion from manual

I have a 92 Maxima SE with manual temperature control (but with buttons for vent positions of course, no levers). I saw in the car's manual that an auto climate control was an option. Is it possible to convert from man. to auto? If so, Is it as simple as taking the dash apart and swapping the modules? How much would the auto panel cost and where can I find one? Thanks a lot!

I think it can be done but its not an easy thing to do. There are sensors, wiring, and possibly even the plastic duct work is different (not sure on this). Not to mention the plug are different.

I have a GXE with auto climate and an SE with manual. I was thinking of doing the swap since I have both cars but that is the only way I would consider it.

awsm66, thanks dude! I had an idea that it would be a b**** of a job to do. Your rims are awesome! Where'd you get those and for how much? (if you don't mind).

If you like those wheels internetautomar sells them on his wheel subpage... at least the equivalents of those. Same as Tirerack.

I got them when I first got the car from a dealer in Birmingham, AL. I did some trading for them and actually only have maybe $200 total in the wheels and tires.

I havent checked internetautomars price on them but I know most places sell them for around $200 a piece for the rims...I like them but they are extreemly heavy. I will be getting light weight 18s one day...if I keep the car long enough that is.
