Like he said, it's probably the regulator. The plastic drums that the cable winds on and some of the little plastic connectors get old and brittle with age and break. Then the cable gets snagged and it stops working. You can get a new regulator for $50-65 if your motor works. It only takes about an hour to do it first time if you go to Craig Brace's site and print out the destructions before you start.

My car has the same problem but on the rear driver side. I hear the motor working but no window action. Now that I have an idea what to look for i'll do the work myself. Thanks

yeah, it's easy... regulators take about 15 minutes to swap once you've done a couple. first one took me all afternoon.. the 10th or 12th one I've done only takes 15 minutes......

If it's the regulator.. Check the junk yards, I got three new regulators w/ motor (I needed all three!) for $10 a piece and none have broken yet (although one was broken on the part car.) You can try checking junk yard dog (http://www.junkyarddog.com/) to search multiple yards (although I have never tried it) for parts.

I would also suggest cleaning and lubricating all the regulator cables and window frames to reduce the stress put on this rather flimsy part.

Try this first:

1) remove aa batteries
2) insert fresh aa batteries
3) press the "window down" button, while aiming remote at car.

Fixed?

If that doesn't work, then listen to everyone else.

If you're really tight on money or don't plan to keep the car long you might want to go this way. But when a part is know to fail at this age/mileage with regularity I am highly reluctant to replace it with a used part of the same age and similar mileage. If you find one that works and last, great for you but I would think most of what's out there are nearing failure as well.

Are yours the exact same as the ones from courtesyparts.com? they claim the ones they sell have better life, but they're $15 and $26 higher respectively..I'd buy from a .org member first unless theirs last a LOT longer..

Also, what all is included with the regulator? a few of the little plastic pieces are broken on my right front and I haven't checked the rear left which is bad as well..

I see you on the forum a lot. Are you scouting for sales
you should make a lot of sale on the regulator, door lock timer, coils. Now only if you could come up with a good cup holder, you've be driving your max to the bank
