Wheels

Alright guys, I need some pics of your 3rd Gen. with newer Maxima wheels. Like for example, a 3rd Gen. w/ 4th or 5th or even 6th Gen. wheels. I'm trying to get an idea of what I should buy for rims. Any pics or input is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

As much as I'd like to have those RX7 wheels, you're all the way in California, and I'm kind of looking for something that is a little closer so I can drive to pick them up? Plus, I only need the rims, I work at Discount Tire, so tires are nothing for me! lol

The rims should be dirt cheap too.

Yeah, they are. But, I want to keep the rims somewhat original and have bigger Nissan wheels on it. That way I don't have some gawdy Enkei or Konig wheel on my car, I have a nice Nissan wheel on my car!! I've gotta represent Nissan in every way to the fullest!!

I just like aftermarket for lower cost and less unsprung weight.
Besides you guys get take-offs sometimes too.
Can you hook me up?

You are very funny MaximaBalla. You work at one of the largest tire and wheel chains in the country and you are asking us about wheels! That's cool, I guess it's good to get other opinions.

Why don't you call around to other Discount Tires and find some take-offs? I have a buddy that was the manager at a Discount Tire and he found me a set of take-offs at a different store for my Toyota 4x4, so I could get rid of the steelies. He also hooked me up with some killa tire deals. I wish he still worked there...

There was someone on the wheels and tires for sale forum selling a set of newer altima wheels, if you are looking to stay with Nissan. Also, I think the Infiniti G35 wheels looks sweet on 3rd gens, so you might want to look out for a set of those.

Aright man, thanks for the info. I just might have to check those out. As for the take-offs, yeah, we do get a lot of those in, but, they're generally either bent or we are waiting for the customer to come back and pick them up. Discount as actually really hooked me up recently. I just put on a damn-near brand new set of Michelin tires on my car for free!! Yes, free! Some dude came in in his Honda Odd-essy (lol) and had his almost brand new tires changed out? So, I jumped on these and claimed them mine!! lol

But don't know how to find the takeoffs besides the one's on ebay.

No those are the 16" 5th gen (may favorite looking of all factory max wheels). The 17" 5th gens are 6 or 7 spoke.

Nissan wheels????

Dude. You need to learn how to work the system man. There's got to be millions of Nissan/Infiniti/others that buy new wheels and don't know what do with their stockers.

Just FYI, the RX7 wheels are about 5 lbs. lighter/wheel than any 16"+ Maxima wheel.

heh

Oh yeah, and 1.5" wider than most too.

Yeah. These were new pulls from the dealership, when the owner requested aftermarket rims. These are the 16" rims. I put Kumhos on them and the rims are much easier to clean than the stock 15" SE rims.

I don't know? I just don't like these huge wheels that people put on their cars and then they can paste stickers of the brand of that wheel all over the car. I'd like to keep it simple and stick with Nissan wheels. That way, you can tell people, " Oh yeah, those rims, yeah, they're off of a newer Maxima." I think that it just sounds better too.

Thats exactly why I bought 5th gen se rims so if someone asked what kind of rims I have I can just say maxima rims, duh.
