Thanks, but I don't think I should care about spacing if I install P205/70R15. Right?

Thanks anyway.

I'm going to get winter tires (on the rims). Size: 205/70R15.

The search has been disabled for some time now, DUDE.

the word correct is correct. If you have a maxima with 15" rims the Correct tire size is 205/65R15 not 70. If you want to put tires that are too big on your car go right ahead it is your car. but they will be too tall.

I think what he means is that they are to tall (larger diameter/circumference). The speedometer is set up for a certain diameter tire. If you installer taller tires then your speedometer will show that you're going slower then you actually are. In this case the difference is only 3.2% meaning that at an indicated 60 mph you're going closer to 62 mph. It's not a big deal and it won't hurt anything as long as you KNOW your speedo is off. It can mean the difference between getting a ticket or not.

Ok, I agree. Let's say the _standard_ size is 65. With size 70 the speedo error will be about 3.2%. Fine with me.
Do you think that the ride quality will chage dramatically?

actually the higher profile tire will give you a little more cushoning but you won't notice a difference in ride unless the snow tires are studded. The OEM size is the 65 series or you can go up to a 215/60-15 on the same rim. if you want to go with a 70 series you really should go to a 195/70-15 but you can use those if you like.

just remember, the higher the series the more tire roll on corners so you will notice a bit of squeel on turns but they are winter tires and I don't believe that you will be doing too much hard turning with them.

it is 40mm, some places refer to it as 40S, so that is why I put in the S, sorry to confuse you.

Good point. Thanks man.
The funny thing is that I'm already considering getting another Maxima now. Frankly, I haven't decided yet if I should go for 3rd gen or 4th gen.

I've heard a lot that in common 3rd gen is more reliable then 4th and 5th gens.
And from my personal experience it is (or was in my case ) pretty reliable car.
But could you make some examples of what is lacking in 4th gen comparing to 3rd one?

Yikes m_maxxy at least you're okay. You sound (type? ) surprisingly calm for someone who just had their car roll over!

Yes Bman, for some reason I AM calm. You know I realize that it could be much worse. There is no injuries at all (except a small cut on my finger)!!!
But I feel terribly sorry for my car. It was like a friend...

Anyway I just don't have time to cry. I got to get another car quickly.

Hey Torres,

Here is the problem. I left her at the <scrap> yard 100 km north of Toronto by Hwy10, just north of Shelburne.
I have one-way insurance on her, and the tow guy that towed her to the yard said that the only reasonable option for me is to give him transfer of ownership (I think this is how it's called) and forget about it.

The biggest problem is that the roof is damaged but my mechanic told me that there is still a slight possibility, and that he wants to see it first.
I need to decide now if I tow it to Toronto and try to repair it or at least to get some money for her or I leave it there for free.

My Max was brought today to Toronto. My mechanic evaluated approximate repair price as 3K CAD. The roof to be replaced, two quarters, and, possibly, two doors.
I gonna go for it.
