Keypad question

So i can't search because of the server stuff going on. Can someone remind me how to reprogram the keypad code? It has been years since I have done it. I know where the number is under the dash, but what order do you enter start and code and etc.? Also, isn't there a finalization process? BTW, it's a 91 GXE.

Thanks,
Pete

I have the same car, good choice, anyway, take that code you have. I believe it starts like S324873 or something like that. Type that in, then it should ring for about 10 seconds, WITHIN THAT 10 SECONDS type in the passcode you want, no need to hit the start button, then try and make sure it worked!

It can roll your windows down by pressing and holding 5WDW(5) after entering your code, it can also open your trunk by pressing 1TRK(1). The 9LCK(9) button locks your doors. Under the glove box compartment, lay upside down and it should be to your left. It's a sticker with a code on it on this goldish box (for me anyway). Good luck!

The place where you pull the handle to open your door is where the keypad will be. If when reach down to open your door, you see little numbers on the handle, then you have the keypad. If you don't see numbers, don't worry about it. If your car is an SE, you won't have it. If you have a remote (factory), you won't have it.

i was told that the GXE model didn't come with a factory remote at all. my GXE has the keypad and it should be a 7 digit code on that goldish box. if ur car is equipped with sunroof it will also open the sunroof at the same time with the two front windows. now all SE models don't come equipped with the keypad. once u put in the mastercode in within the 10 seconds that it beeps input the code that u can remember and keep the mastercode like in ur wallet or somewhere u know its safe.

89 - 94 GXE = equipped with keypad
89 - 94 SE = not equipped with keypad

whenever i bought the car the remote was sittin in the console and wasnt working. i guess that is why it doestn work.

when i override it, should i do it on the drivers side, or the passenger side?

its under the dash on the passenger side. just get a flash light and a paper and pen and look for a goldish box with a white sticker and it has 3 lines of digits. look for the 7 digit code and thats it. and when u override it u can do it either on the driver side or passenger side. good luck.

... while under the dash, look in the direction of a RH door hinge (box is under the RH vent)
(can it be explained in any simplier way? )
