Found the reason of the squealing during accelaration
#1
This is in response to an earlier thread regarding a squeal
I heard whenever I stepped on the gas pedal.
The problem was the alternator belt. It was too loose.
Now, the problem is solved. Also, my dash lights no longer dim and I have smoother idling.
Just reporting my findings, that's all.

Any more details?
Specifically, was it a squeal like a squeaky door, or more of a whine? Also, did it happen whenever you stepped on the gas pedal, or just when you pushed it down slightly?
Also, how did you solve it? New alternator belt, or is there some way to tighten it?
Thanks

uhhhh, if you can't recognize the sound of a loose belt, then you probably should ask for help when adding gas to your car...
no offense intended here, but squeaky belts are one of the easiest, most common problems to fix.

Jesus Christ! I know the sound of a squeaky belt, but that's not what it sounds like. Notice your post does not say squeak:
That's why I asked for clarification. I'll be the first to admit that I don't know too much about cars, but I'm not a total idiot.

The only clarification I can give you is that it sounds like the sound you get when you burn rubber at some drag race or the sound you get turn a hard corner on some good tires.
Come to think of it, it also sounds like the way a skunk squeals when you abruptly cross its path.
I hope you get an idea of what I am talking about.
