Homemade Shift Boot Installed

I put a short throw shifter on my car and decided I would try to make a new shift boot. My stock one was burned and the last owner put a stupid cover thing on it, which was better than nothing at all, but still. My Mom helped me make it (mainly the sewing), and we used a vinyl leather type of material. Its not as soft or flexable as real leather, but its alot better than some of the paper shift boots (cough 5th gen). After I installed it I realized we could have made it smaller (it was already 1" smaller than the stock one), but right now I'm just glad to have one.

I think the shifter looks really cool in the second picture. Soon there will be nothing left on my car that came with my car. I've got a 4spoke steering wheel lined up (and that cover thing came with the car, along with the floor mats ).

Here's another angle. You can see my incar entertainment (gauges) and my super engine management system (VI and VTC control switches... I think DaveBond007 cause my switch thing to be messed up in one of his many attempts to silence my little friends (clicking VTC's)).

I thought that I might addd that mistargone is using MY shift **** that came with MY car when i got it several months ago.

So in conclusion, I bid you a good day.

(btw, mistargone created a switch to telepathically control his variable intake power valve at his will and discretion and a switch to mute his ever so silent friends that are with him anytime his car runs on diesel (pretty close fuels such as arco will do)).

yeah, me likey the shift ****. My mom was thinking about buying me one from a store (I think she said Target), thank god she didnt though. If I were to get any other, I would get the AE ****, but at ~$50, thas not going to happen any time soon.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, its kind of hard to find 3rd gear sometimes, It likes to go into 5th, but I probably just am not used to it yet.

And Shawn, maybe a guide painted on your windshield will help out with that.

Just thank god that he didn't try to mount his a/f gauge/lightshow and his voltmeter onto his glasses for some primitive form of "head-up" display.

Did you make the leather door inserts in your car as well or are they factory?

I like the shift boot and your **** is in better shape than mine (no more leather) but bro, I got two words for you...VACUUM CLEANER

I think maybe floor mats should be high on your list of mods, too.

I believe those are dealer, but I am really going to throw you guys off if I can find a picture of my old max's doors. You'll hate me

Both of max's had/have dealer installed leather.

Chris- I know, its on the christmas list. I hate those stupid rubber ones, but I dont want to mess up my purdy carpet (one of many parts for Jeff's old car).

sadly i dont have a picture of my old ones, It was the only maxima with the ones that looked like them.

I know i should vacuum the car, but i've only washed it once since I bought it. Davebond pretty much washed it the second time.
