Motor Quiting When Hitting A Bump

I have a friend with a 91 Maxima Se. He says the car quits or the rpms drop drastically and the radio quits when he hits a bump. Can anyone give us a clue as to where to start to look for the problem. It sounds like a loose connection, but have not investigated it yet. I would appreciate any help you can give me. Please email me at scottfish@peoplepc.com so I can relay the info back to him. Thanks. Scott

loose wiring somewhere, check some fuses too, shocks could be loose and hittin some ground wire loose, check all your connections near the bottom of the engine.

Motor

I don't think he has had any work done recently. I advised him to start at the battery and trace the wires/cables checking for them being loose. Could it be possible that a ground from the battery is loose? I know on my 66 mustang, the battery ground is bolted into the bottom part of the motor. I will have him checks fuses and shocks. Thanks.

Have him check the ground cable from the battery at the point at the base of the left side of the battery. There's a connection point there that will cause some funny stuff to happen when it loosens up. Just tighten the 10mm bolt down and see what happens.
