Hey anyone out there ever have the trunk release lever stop working on them. If so I could really use some help on finding out why my trunk release is not working. I know the gxe's have a power release, but I need to know if the 89 se is hydrolic or spring or wired controled I have tried every thing to get it to work! Any positive suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

trunk release

I have the same problem on my 89 max se...although I just got rear ended, so I'll get it fixed...the insurance adjuster said that it was a solenoid.....although I have no idea what that is...

trunk release

there is a cable lock out switch in the trunk by the front of the catch on the locking mechanism.... it is in the cable bypass position so it will only let u open the trunk by the key just push it in the other direction
