Cupholder

I have a prototype in my GXE right now, but I'm not very pleased with it. I am working on it, as I have time. I plan on getting it perfected within the next 1-2 weeks. I think I will make two different styles...

1) one that is mounted right underneath the lighter/ash tray. Holds two beverages. Just need to perfect the height and a decent bottom to support the cups. This one is visible at all times.

2) one that mounts in the center console armrest and is used when the armrest is in the upright position. This one is hidden when not in use.

Any ideas and opinions are greatly appreciated, send and e-mail, or post here. Would most people like them pre-finished, or finish them yourselves?

Thanks for the update.

I would prefer style #1 in flat black.

I wouldn't mind finishing it myself either.

One more question...

What size of containers are the most popular? I assume most of you use standard pop cans and bottles. Does it make sense to have a big hole and a small hole, one for each size? If I make both holes big enough for bottles, than cans might slide around kind of easy and may tip at high speed turns.

I'm just kinda thinkin' out loud here...

That's an interesting idea, I personally tend to keep a one liter bottle of something in car when I'm on a drive, which is usually about twice a month to go home and back to school(six hours), a smaller one would be great for cans/styrofoam coffee cups. I'm sure I'd use both. hehe I probably will..

Thats a really good idea, beacuse a lot of the time those bigger drinks from mcdonalds and stuff dont fit in the tiny cup ones, so like 1 can and one bigger one would be off the hook!! Is the center console big enough for it? later
