Dam, you need to make a better choice than that.
Run the 3rd gen it'll be way cheaper than buying something newer

I went through the same thing when my tranny went out. Couldn't see spending $1800 on a 13 year old car with 175K on it. But then I also couldn't see selling it for $500 with a bad trans and paying $300 plus a month for something else. So, I fixed it, held off the bill collectors for a few months, and everything seems OK- for now..I still figure I can squeeze another 50-75K out of it.

I am actually looking to keep the price around $15k. I dont want a large payment, but I also need to build my secured credit. I was VERY happy when I got my VE. But, I got it right after my VG was totalled...I spent almost the entire time I had my VG fixing and modding it. I had to start all over with the VE...I had a bad winter with it last year with the brake problems and the ignition problem. I had a lot to fix a year ago. I did that work, then this past october, I did the tranny and a ton more work to it. Now, I have more repairs ahead and I am afraid of some big other big issue to come up soon with this 11 year old car.

I may fix it...I dont think I can purchase a car tomorrow. So in the mean time, I still need to do some work to it. If I patch her up well enough and if she treats me better than I will most likely keep her around a little longer.

(wow, sounds just like when me and my girlfriend have a fight)

remember, once you fix (replace ) everything it will be just like a brand new car
