i just bought a Bose double din from an ebay auction and received it yesterday. The install is easy (just unplug 3 wires and plug them back in to the new unit), but it wouldn't turn on when installed. Can I do anything to fix it, or do I have to send it to Dave's cool world? Is there anyway I can fix this on my own? Also, the old head unit (tape/tray) had a 3 amp fuse in the back, whereas the double din did not. Is this a related problem? Thanks in advance for any help.

hmmmm....

well first question is...did you already have bose and are replacing it? if not then your speakers probably wont work with the head unit esp. w/o amplifiers. also make sure every thing is hooked up correctly. i know my bose system would not work with non bose speakers without an amp, so all i put in was subs, then recently bought a real cd player. hope i could help, if you any help, i will try to, just post.

Yep, I have the Bose speakers (telltale sign: crackling or faint sound). Is there anyway that I can "bench test" this? How would I go about that? Looking back, I think I should've gone aftermarket....

I checked the connections and they seemed fine. I even hooked up my old head unit twice to see if I did it right.

About the 3 amp fuse in the back, should there be one somewhere on the double din?

Thanks.
