First of all, Jav... welcome!

Now, as for your problem, it's just the window regulator. A typically faulty product in 89-94 Maximas, and just as easily fixed. I'd recommend either finding one in the "for sale" forum that another .orgy member is selling, or buy one from Courtesy Nissan (check the "links" section for address/ordering info). It'll be a heckuva lot cheaper than buying it locally.

Once you get the parts, hit someone up here and we'll either give you some instruction on how to swap it out, or show you to someone that DOES.

Enjoy the ride!!

Cool thanks bro! I just want to be sure that's what it is. Is the regulator the whole pulley sytem? Or just that pulley part on the motor that wraps the colrd around itself? Thanks again!

It's actually the whole pully system, minus the motor.

I've got AIM, but only at home (I'm at work right now - bummer). I'll put you on AIM when I get home at 8 (6, your time).

IIRC, those regulators cost in the $50-$60 range from Courtesy Nissan. When I tried to price one locally, it was close to $100. So, you see, it'd be in your best interest to get it from Courtesy, Tustin, or one of those places that offer discounts for .orgY members.

You might even be able to get one cheap from internetautomar.... he sells just about everything else, so that might help you, too.

there's a 24 hour Mickey D's AND one that is open from 7 am-11 pm here in a town of 17k people..

Yeah, the regulators internetautomar sells work just fine..I'm happy with the 2 I purchased, and I'm contemplating buying a rear right for when this one that I haven't replaced goes out..although, they seem to have a LITTLE more resistance in them than the stock ones do..course, that may just be my motors getting weak from sitting unused for a good while before I replaced the regulators...My right front went from May 2001 to December 2003 and my rear left went from April 2003 to December 2003..

That ain't a deal.
Nissan new at the dealer are only about 60.
Besides mine ARE 100% brand new anyways and still with shipping cheaper than $70.

A word to the wise:

How long do you take to ship? And how long does your ground option take to get to Los Angeles?

window regulator prices

Artwistj

If you haven't gotten yours yet, check these sites out. I don't know what shipping costs, though.

http://www.autopartsreplacement.com/...ar=1990&cat=45

http://www.carpartswholesale.com/cgi...N&model=MAXIMA

I might be getting mine from here. I don't actually need it yet; just the front-left motor. The thing is I've gone through 2 motors in about 18 months so I'm thinking of just replacing the regulator, also. My other windows still work but move up slow once the window is about 80% closed. I heard of people replacing the wire and/or greasing them up.

The cheapest for a front-left motor that I've seen is about $100 new. So far, my window is sealed shut; I eat less fast food because of that.

good luck
