exhaust system setup?

What would be the best setup minus the aftermarket y pipe, see my whole exhaust is badly rusted out and when I get my tax return I need to replace it with out it costing me a bundle, because w/ that same check I need to get insurance and a tag since i've never had one in my name it will be $135.00, I would really appreciate any help, thanks guys

200 bucks might be pushing it if you want your exhaust redone. but your best bet is to go around and get estimates. go with 2.5" (or even 2.25") piping all the way back to a stock or 5th gen muffler. if you want a little more noise, go with flowmasters. if you want a lot of noise, get a straight-though design muffler.

also could I just pull a stock exhaust system off of a car in the junkyard or will that be badly rusted out too?

all of the piping as in what exactly? there's the rear exhaust manifold to the y to the cat to the resonator (i believe) and then to the muffler. But you can have everything from the cat all the way back if you want.

if u would like your car quiet...nothing fancy, www.taylorautomotive.com has the whole cat back for our cars for $102 and FREE shipping. you'll get everything new after the cat to the tip of the muffler. its all one piece. its pretty well built and good quality.

installation from a shop is a half hour labor. dunno if a stock to stock replacement is what u r really looking for.

This is where i got mine from...the piping is pretty thick and feels solidly built. not the average muffler shop steel piping. no horsepower gains or anything though, cuz its strictly a stock replacement.

Magnaflow muffler ($125), Magnaflow Hi-Flow Cat ($75), and custom bent 2.25" muffler shop piping ($???). All this should be around $250 including labor. Get with internetautmar for the Magnaflow products. Look up what you want on their website and see if he can get it for you. Most likely he can.

cheap but nice exhaust...

shop bent 2.25 or 2.5 (shouldnt be much) and a dynomax super turbo muffler (25-30).

This is the set up I have (2.5) except I dont have the cat...I have a 22" resinator instead. I think that a cat will make it as quiet or quieter than mine.

there is a link to the sound on page 1 of my cardomain site (in the engine mod list about middle of the page) . Its not loud and doesnt drone but has a nice sound to it.

eh, there is a reason why some tuners angle their mufflers, but that's another thread.

I got mine from the shop that did it BUT you can get them from summitracing.com or your local advance auto parts store.

Dynomax super turbo is what it is. I cant remember but I think I jsut got the longest one they had in the 2.5 in 2.5 out. I think mine is offset in center out too.

its a regular oval muffler. Its not straight through (S shape on the inside).

here is a link to summit with the dynomax super turbo mufflers

also look on their site at the thrush turbo mufflers. Its basically the same thing but cheaper (both Dynomax) and may be what I actually have...I honestly cant remember...Edit again...I do have the super turbo muffler and not the thrush.
