Blue Injector - Black Injector whats the difference?
#1
Hi all. Im getting 3 of my fuel injectors replaced. I went to order them and they told me is it a blue or black injector. I have no idea what sort is in mine. I rang Nissan and they told me there not sure either. How can you tell what sort of of injector is it? I need help as I want to get these injectors done so that my Max will go well.
Another thing.... I was driving on the weekend and I was in the city of Newcastle. I had to stop at heaps of lights and stop and start driving. My trany seemed to get a little hot from this. When it went into overdrive at 80kph (50mph) it seemed to jump back out then into gear again a few times. The revs went up a bit then back to normal. Was this becasue it was hot? I have a tranny cooler installed, but maybe cause there was not a lot of air getting through it because of all the stop and starting I was doing it was not getting a chance to cool down. I changed the coolant yesterday and got my tranny warmed up around town by stop and start driving and it worked fine. Maybe it was the coolant before not lowering the temp properly?? Has anyone had this problem before? Any answers would be great...

Take one of the injector plugs off and look on the top part of the injector. There should be a round dot, either black or blue. Look carefully because it may be covered in dirt. You need to get matching colors because apparently they function differently and the ecu doesnt like them to be mixed. At least thats what a nissan mechanic told me.

I've heard(don't quote me..) for the 89-91's color doesn't matter....for the 92+ thats where the color comes into play....man i wish I could get a concrete answer again, Kaleb where are you!?!?!? we should have FAQ'd that discussion from a while back!!!
