cold starting problem

This 91 SE is running perfect once warmed up.
But every morning just putting into drive, it will die.
idle is fine. After let it idel in park or N for a couple
of min, everyting is fine.
Nissan dealer said a new Air Flow meter is needed and ask
for $600. i got a 'good' one from a junkyard and the problem
still there.
Any clue ?
