Tires Flexing :( New suspension installed... partially.
So I just got home from installing some new (used) Eibach springs and Tokico struts in the front of my car (the rear Tokicos haven't come in yet). Anyway, now I can feel the tires flexing, It's not fair Now I need to get new (well probably used) wheels and tires.
I wasn't going to post until I could get pics up, but couldn't resist. I should have pics by Monday.
Also my FSTB will be here on Monday (I know, it's about time, blah blah blah).
I also need to give a BIG Thanks to Jeff92se for the strut mounts even though we ended up using mine, and for the help with the install. He saved me a bunch of time and it was fun . But I do owe him a 21mm 6 point socket, lol
ohhhhh! I just got an awesome idea! My dad has a 2000 SE 5spd, but he's out of town (with the Digital Camera), I think I'm going to go steal his wheels for a few days and see what my car is like. If only 3rd gen wheels fit on a 5th gen....
EDIT: Donald, I think I win for most parts from Jeffys car

Sweeeeet! Now you will be able to hold the road well enough to keep the white Max from being eaten by a tree!!! (j/k)
What are you going to do with your dad's car, leave it sitting on milk crates???

actually......
na, I've got 2 jack stands, I'll probably put my tires on the rear, then just leave the front on jack stands. The hard part will be taking them off my car.

Yeah, the next "post" we see from you Shawn will be...
"Shawn was a good friend, steady contributor to the .orgy, and devoted friend who came to a tragic end at the hands of an angry father with a timing chain in one hand, and a caliper in the other hand..."

The only spare timing chain I have around here is from my spare VE, I'll be damned if I let someone beat me with that
The sad thing is that if 3rd gen brakes bolted up, I'd actually put them on, lol. I've got the old brakes from my black car (alot of good they did )
I actually was thinking about going over there and getting the wheels at 12am today lol (5hours ago), now I'm thinking about going right now. I think I'll just wait a few hours. Who needs sleep anyways.
(see, normal people would probably just drive the 5th gen if they were in my shoes for a few days, but no, I just take the wheels and drive my 3rd gen. Me = 3rd gen ***** )

I only have a spare VE engine, sorry
yeah I drive the 5th gen now and then, I could drive it more if I wanted to, but I like the 3rd gen more. I think it handles better than the 3rd gen, but I also had some blown struts, and thats quite an age difference. With the Eibach/Tokicos and RSB, I'll have to say the 3rd gen outhandles the 5th gen. neither car has a FSTB, and the 5th gen has 235/45r17 Kumho 712 tires on it.
When I was in Oregon with the 5th gen I pulled a 180* at a decent speed (turning around following 3 aztec red 3rd gens ) and it really leaned abit, caught me by surprise. Overall just driving it, the steering feels like its tied to the road abit more, but that is probably just the tires and the ~4 year old bushings vs. the 14 year old bushings. Basically I think my car outhandles the 5th gen right now

My friend and his buddy were out 'testing' his new 2k max after he bought it. They pulled a crazy u-turn and punch it. They broke all 4 tires off the ground. The car slid wayyt to one side, the driver (over)corrected, the tires caught, and they slid wayyy to the other side. Basically they both walked away saying the body sway worked against the correction of the driver.
